Recreational Class Policies

Sunday, September 5, 2010
Our recreational gymnastics classes operate on a year round schedule. To download registration forms, please see the Forms section of the sidebar to the right.

Registration
Recreational classes run year round. There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee, per family, upon enrolling. Students can join at any time with the remainder of the month prorated. Students are automatically re-enrolled in each month throughout the year.

Tuition
Tuition is based on a monthly fee. An early tuition discount of $15 is offered when payment is made before the first day of the upcoming month. Tuition is officially due by the 5th of each month and is non-refundable. Should payment not be received by the 1st week of the following month you will be asked to see the front desk prior to your child attending class. A payment drop box is located at the front office and auto-draft is available for your convenience. **Please note: If your child will not be returning, you MUST submit a 30 day written notice. By failing to provide notice, you will be held responsible to pay for classes held in your child's name.

Discounts
A discount is offered for enrolling multiple children into our program. The first child is full price, second and third children receive $5 off. If you are enrolling your child in two (2) classes per week, you will receive $25 off of the second class. Being a member also entitles you to discounts when booking a birthday party.

Make-Ups
Offering make-up classes is a courtesy we extend to you. Those in recreational classes are able to make-up as long as the member's tuition and fees are paid up-to-date. Make up classes will be made on the last Saturday of each month from 9:30 to 10:30am. You must call the front office to register for the make up class. The make up class must be made up within the month you miss. **No walk in make-ups will be allowed.**

Class Procedures
Due to safety concerns, children must not enter the gym area before their class begins. An instructor will come and call your child into class from the hallway. At the conclusion of your child's class, parents must be in the hallway to pick up their child. Children will not be allowed to stay and play on the equipment after their class. This not only is a safety concern but also interferes with the upcoming class.

Disciplinary Actions
Listening and following instructions is very important for the safety of your child and the other children at the gym. A child displaying negative behavior will receive one warning and then will be asked to sit in an appropriate "time out." If the negative behavior continues, the child may be dismissed from class that day.

Return Check Fee
There is a $35 charge for all returned checks.

Inclement Weather
If there is inclement weather and Henderson County Schools are closed, there will be no recreational classes. A make-up class will be scheduled.

Dress Code
Girls are asked to wear a leotard. Hair needs to be pulled back and out of their face. Boys can wear a t-shirt and shorts without butons, zippers or snaps. No jewelry, food, or gum is allowed in the gym. However, please provide your child with a water bottle.

Moving Up/Progression
You will need to submit a "Move Up Slip" to the front desk to move your child up. Coaches will give you the "Move Up Slip' after a formal skill evaluation has been completed and your child has mastered the skills necessary to move to a more challenging class. These evaluations will take place twice a year in December and May.

Observation Area
Parents and siblings are asked to watch from the viewing area and to keep the hallway clear, as it is a fire hazard. There are many distractions in the gym with multiple classes going on at the same time. The instructors work diligently to keep classes focused and on task. In the interest of their sfaety, please allow the gymnasts to give their full attention to their instructors, therefore no photography or videotaping is allowed.

A carbon copy of these policies is available at the front office.  A signed copy must be turned in for your child's file.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the front office - 698-5577.
